Signs of Infertility
Infertility is a problem that is on the rise. It affects both men and women. Unfortunately, most of those diagnosed infertile find this out after they unsuccessfully try to have a baby. There are some ways how you can identify the signs of infertility and they include the following.
Amenorrhea which is a condition where a woman does not experience her monthly cycle after puberty. Women usually have this cycle every 28 days at the onset of puberty and goes on until menopause. If this condition occurs and the woman is not pregnant, it is advisable to seek medical help.
Over two consecutive miscarriages in a woman. This indicates that there is a problem whereby she cannot sustain the pregnancy for 9 full months. The best thing to do is to consult a medical professional to get remedies for the problem.
Shrinking of testicles in men. There are cases where due to injury or lifestyle factors, the mans testicles start shrinking. This is an indicator that there is damage to the sperm producing cells. Medical attention should be sought immediately.
Development of male-like characteristics in a woman. This can be because of the production of androgens in the woman’s body. They result in the condition polycystic ovarian syndrome. This condition results in the production of cysts instead of ovaries.
Little or no ejaculate during intercourse. This is commonly known as low sperm count and is a sign of infertility in men. The condition is treatable with fertility drugs and eating a healthy diet.
Infections of the reproductive organs. Conditions such as fibroids and endometriosis are signs of infertility. It is important that if such conditions are detected, surgery or administering of drugs be done.
